turning cold

Brr the weather has gone very cold last couple of days.We had a nice day Sat,we went to Stratford for the weekend (with the camper)and we had a great time.Stratford is not far from us,only 40min in the car. There was a food festival on(just my kind of day.....)
We walked into Stratford from the camp site, and caught the little boat bus on the way back.It was so lovely along the river.

The river bus, from the camp site to Stratford.

I love water, canals, rivers ,and the sea.

food market  mmmmm

going back to the caravan park on the river bus,the sun was above me ,so pictures not brilliant.

Liily and Izzy were really well behaved on the little boat.Lilly is on the right with the pink bling, she is sitting on Bri's knee.

I did catch up with a few things this week, here is block 3 & 4 of the fat quarter shops mystery BOM,

Three more blocks from Betsys Closet.

I am doing a little more on the sewing machine now,as you know I have been trying to not use it ,to give the shoulder time to heal.I had another visit to the hospital this week ,that has caused me a lot of worry over the last few weeks. As you know ,our friend Roy passed away in July,Roy had cancer in his mouth, and after extensive surgery, still lost the battle.
Can you imagine what was going through my mind when the dentist referred me to the consultant. She did try to reasure me that it was nothing like that, but it did not help.
So, all I have is somethong called Lichen Planus ,very common not life threatening, caused my stress......and many other things can trigger it off.It a sort of inflammation in the mouth.( I only went for a clean and polish).
so all is well with me.

Thought I would share this last photo, couldnt find that Lilly.....

LILLY...that is my bed,not you'rs.

next post is my 100   look out for my giveaway.
till then love from me.xx

Autumn Days

I love Autumn, and one of the things I liked most when I was working ,was singing with the children and teaching them new songs(I never met a child that diddnt like to sing).
This is one of my favourite

Autumn Days  by Estelle White

Autumn days when the grass is jewelled
And the silk inside the chestnut shell
Jet planes meeting in the air to be refuelled
All these things I love so well
So I mustn't forget
No I mustn't forget
To say a great big thank you
I mustn't forget

Clouds that look like familiar faces
And a winters moon with frosted wings
Smell of bacon as I fasten up my laces
And the song the milkman sings
So I mustn't forget
No I mustn't forget
To say a great big thank you
I mustn't forget

Whipped up spay that is rainbow scattered
And a swallow curving in the sky
Shoes so comfy that they're worn and battered
And the taste of apple pie
So I mustn't forget
No I mustn't forget
To say a great big thank you
I mustn't forget

Scent of gardens when the rains been falling
And a minnow darting down the stream
Picked-up engine that's been stuttering and stalling
And a WIN from my home team
So I mustn't forget
No mustn't forget
To say a great big thank you
I mustn't forget.

If you live in the UK and have children, you will no dought be familiar with this. There is a brilliant clip on Utube, Oscar Piatt aged 6 giving it his all, the person recording it has Oscar too low,and all you can see is his eyebrows going up and down,it's priceless made me laugh and cry.
I wish I could master LINK,would love to put it on for you all to see,try to have a look if you can.
Enjoy your Sunday love Laura.

Ps,this is my 98th post, wow it's taken me ages to get to this.I am putting together a couple of things for a give away for my 100th post.....keep watching. Xx

Block 2 and 3 of Betsys closet were also finished last week.
Hoping to  get the machine out this week,I have BOMs  piling up.

a camping we shall go....

we had the most fantastic weekend in our tiny camper. We went with some friends to Lichfield, not far away from us.The weather was glorious. Our friends,Rob and Gaynor Walker have been caravaning for years,so gave us lots of tips.
This is the view from our back window.I love the English country side, and Autumn is my favourite Season.Everything is being gathered in and the roads are full of tractors going from field to field(it slows you down a bit,but we are not in a hurry)
On Saturday we went to Fradley Junction,I love canals, always have.
Its were two canals meet,The Trent and Mersey  Canal, meets The Coventry Canal. It was a very warm sunny day and there were lots of people enjoing what could be the last warm days of the late summer.

One of the Five locks at the junction. This part of the canel system was opened in 1790,and some of the buidings are grade A listed.
The barges were lining up to get through the locks.

This chap was a great character,he is a rope maker and lived on a barge. He sat on the canal bank making this huge  buffer.

Of course we had the pups with, and we met a family with 4 Lhaso's.My friends dog Izzy was OK,but you can see Lilly, wasn't happy at all got as far away as she could. Our dogs Izzy and Lilly are sisters, and they had a great weekend together.

My friend Gaynor.

Lilly had her hair cut last week,Izzy is between cuts.

all in all,we had a lovely relaxing weekend, looking forward to our next little trip. You dont have to travel far from home if you dont want to.The world we live in is beautiful all over.

Lovely sunny Tuesday.

Hi friends, first I would like to thank my lovely friends who have removed that darn "word  verification"
It's going to make leaving comments a lot easier.Yesterday we collected the VW campervan we bought from our neighbours.
It's a lovely camper, our neighbours have looked after it with TLC.Its small ,only 2berth but just what we want for travelling this beautiful land we live in,and we can take the pup.
Dennis and Jean are both in their 80s now,and Dennis has knee trouble so they can't use their beloved camper.(he will probably look round the back of the garage to make sure we are looking after it)
I have taken pictures ,and will put them on later today.I am very excited about this camper,we have been looking around for a while now.
We are now off to the camping shop for a few bits of stuff.......
Photos later,love Laura.x
